The Reverse Diabetes Diet

I just read a book on Diet that could reverse Diabetes by Dr. Neal Barnard, He shared the research study that Diabetes can be reversed by following his research findings, details as below.

‘Dr Neal Barnard is a brilliant visionary, one of the leading pioneers in educating the public about the healing power of diet and nutrition.’ – Dr Dean Omish

For the type 2 diabetes, our goals is to ‘clean the gum out of the locks’ . The fundamental problem in type 2 diabetes appears to be the accumulation of the tiny amounts of fat inside muscle cells. They make it hard for insulin to do its job by blocking what it called insulin signaling. Thai is, they interfere with the process by which insulin opens the cell membrane to allow glucose to enter. You need to select foods that reverse this process.

A diet revamp can also help protect your body from the disease process. That is crucial for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

The Diet Plan’s guidelines is a simple process, there are no limits on portions, calories or carbohydrates. Just focus on what you eat, so how much you eat generally takes care of itself.

To reverse the course of diabetes, ‘clean the gum out of the locks’. And allow the heart and blood vessels the best chances of reversing any existing blockages, there are there three guidelines.

1. Set aside animal products

2. Keep vegetable oils to the minimum

3. Favour foods with a low glycaemic index

There are two sources of fat in the diet : animal products and vegetable oils. This guideline tackles the first of these,

The Program omits meat, dairy products and eggs.

The Plan does have rules about carbohydrate. Select the right kind of Carbohydrate, quantity is not the primary concern.

What is GI ?
The Glycaemic Index (GI) is simply a number that indicates how rapidly any given food releases sugar into the bloodstream.
